Issued in 1960, United Nations Scott #81–82 commemorate the Fifth World Forestry Congress, an international conference organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to promote the sustainable management and conservation of the world’s forests. Held in Seattle, the congress brought together forestry experts and policymakers from around the globe to address environmental protection and responsible resource use.

Both stamps feature a stylized tree symbolizing forest growth and ecological balance, with the FAO emblem and United Nations emblem displayed beneath the branches.
