Description

Thailand Scott #297–299 (1952–1954) – United Nations Day Overprints – Mint Never Hinged

This is a complete set of three commemoratives issued by Thailand to mark United Nations Day, celebrated annually on October 24. Each stamp features the same intricate original design: the United Nations emblem framed by an ornate traditional Siamese border, printed in deep violet and gray tones.

What distinguishes the set are the red overprints showing the year of issue:

  • Scott #297 – “1952” overprint

  • Scott #298 – “1953” overprint

  • Scott #299 – “1954” overprint

These overprinted stamps reflect Thailand’s participation in the early years of the United Nations and symbolize the country’s post-war diplomatic presence on the world stage.

All three stamps are Mint Never Hinged (MNH) with fresh gum, sharp color, and strong detail.

A desirable set for collectors of:

  • Thailand

  • United Nations commemoratives

  • Overprint varieties

  • 20th-century Asian postal history
