Description

Soviet Union (USSR) • 1985 • Medicinal Plants of the USSR • 2k–45k • Complete Set of 5

Issued in 1985, this five-stamp Soviet set illustrates medicinal plants native to the USSR, combining botanical accuracy with elegant scientific illustration. Each stamp presents a different plant species shown with roots, leaves, and flowers clearly rendered, reflecting the educational purpose of the series and the USSR’s long tradition of nature and health-themed philately.

The designs emphasize clarity and detail, making the set appealing to collectors of flora, herbal medicine, natural history, and botanical art. Soft, natural color palettes and balanced compositions give the stamps a refined, textbook-like quality without sacrificing visual charm.

All five stamps are offered in Mint Never Hinged (MNH) condition, with clean original gum, sharp perforations, fresh color, and excellent overall presentation across the set. A cohesive and attractive group for collectors of medicinal plants, scientific illustration, or late Soviet nature issues.
