Description
This is a mint never hinged (MNH) imperforate two-stamp set from the Soviet Union (USSR), Scott #2622–2623, issued in 1962 to commemorate the Vostok-2 spaceflight.
The stamps mark the 25-hour orbital flight of Vostok-2, flown by Gherman Titov, one of the earliest extended human space missions. The bold, modernist design features a stylized rocket rising from Earth, orbital lines, and stars, using contrasting color schemes to emphasize motion, achievement, and technological progress.
Imperforate examples were produced primarily for collectors and exhibition purposes and are scarcer than the regularly perforated issues, making them especially desirable among collectors of space exploration, imperforates, and Soviet Cold War–era philately.
Condition:
Mint never hinged (MNH). Original gum intact and undisturbed. Clean examples with sharp edges, strong color, and no major faults visible.
