Soviet Union (USSR) • 1985 • World Festival of Youth and Students (XII) • 1k–45k • Complete Set

Issued in 1985, this colorful Soviet stamp set commemorates the 12th World Festival of Youth and Students, held in Moscow, an international event promoting peace, friendship, and anti-imperialist solidarity. The designs feature boldly illustrated portraits of young people from diverse backgrounds, along with the festival’s emblem rendered in vibrant, interlocking forms that symbolize unity across cultures and nations.

Executed in a lively, poster-inspired graphic style, the stamps reflect mid-1980s Soviet visual culture, combining social idealism with contemporary illustration techniques. Strong color contrasts, expressive faces, and symbolic motifs give the set immediate visual impact and clear thematic cohesion.

All stamps in the set are offered in Mint Never Hinged (MNH) condition, with clean original gum, sharp perforations, bright color saturation, and excellent overall presentation. A striking group for collectors of youth movements, international festivals, political culture, or late Soviet graphic design.
