Description
Qatar – Scott #11 (1957) was issued under British postal administration, created by overprinting British commemorative stamps for local use. This 75 naye paise deep green issue celebrates the Jubilee Jamboree of the Boy Scouts (1907–1957) and features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II beside a globe encircled by the Scout emblem and ribbon. The bold “QATAR” overprint officially localized the British issue for use within the Qatari postal system prior to independence. Printed by Waterlow & Sons, this striking design combines royal portraiture and international scouting symbolism. This example is mint, never hinged, with sharp overprint, bright color, and full original gum.
