Portugal – Scott #891–894 (1962) commemorate the 10th International Congress of Pediatrics held in Lisbon. Designed by noted Portuguese artist Maria Keil, these stamps feature charming, modernist illustrations of children—reading, being examined, playing, and cradled—each image representing care, learning, and childhood well-being. The set includes four denominations: 50c olive green, 1$00 blue, 2$80 red-brown, and 3$50 violet, all printed by Casa da Moeda. Reflecting Portugal’s postwar artistic renaissance, this issue combines tender imagery with elegant typography and clean design. All stamps are mint, never hinged, with bright colors and pristine gum.
