Description
Portugal – Scott #830–831 (1958) were issued to celebrate the Brussels International Exposition (Expo 58), the first major World’s Fair after World War II. These striking modernist designs feature a stylized Atomium-inspired starburst with a globe and the bold red overprint “BRUXELAS 58”, representing Portugal’s participation in the event. Printed in vivid green and chestnut brown, the 1$00 and 3$30 denominations capture the optimism and atomic-age aesthetic of the late 1950s. Both stamps are mint, never hinged, with full original gum and bright, unfaded colors—excellent examples of Portugal’s mid-century philatelic artistry.
