Description
Issued in 1991 as part of Papua New Guinea’s Marine Life definitive series, this 20t stamp features the Whitecap Anemonefish (Amphiprion leucokranos)—a brilliantly colored reef species native to the waters of the Coral Sea.
The design showcases the fish’s vivid orange body and distinctive white “cap” marking, swimming among the protective tentacles of a sea anemone. The issue highlights Papua New Guinea’s rich marine biodiversity and its coral reef ecosystems, among the most biologically diverse in the Pacific.
This example shows a clean circular postmark and remains well-centered with good color retention. The series was printed by Leigh-Mardon Pty. Ltd., Melbourne, using offset lithography.
