Description

Netherlands Scott B261 is a 1960 semipostal charity stamp issued as part of the “Voor het Kind” (For the Child) series, a long-running Dutch program supporting child welfare and social aid initiatives. As a semipostal issue, the stamp includes a mandatory surtax, placing it within the Scott B-number category.

The design combines a profile portrait of a child with a symbolic dove, an image traditionally associated with peace, care, and protection. The paired imagery reinforces the humanitarian purpose of the issue, while the restrained color palette and fine line engraving reflect the clean, modern aesthetic of mid-20th-century Dutch stamp design.

The denomination is 7 cent + 5 cent, with the additional surtax directed toward charitable organizations benefiting children. These stamps were valid for postal use for a defined period following issuance.

Offered here in mint never hinged (MNH) condition, with full original gum, bright color, crisp detail, and well-defined perforations.
