Description

Luxembourg — Erpeldange & Schengen, Historic Buildings (Scott 937–938)

This used two-stamp commemorative set from Luxembourg, cataloged as Scott #937–938, was issued in 1995 and features illustrated views of historic buildings in the towns of Erpeldange and Schengen.

Scott #937 depicts a stately manor building in Erpeldange, rendered in crisp linework with soft pastel coloring that highlights architectural details and rooflines. Scott #938 features a landmark building in Schengen, a town of particular historical significance as the site associated with the Schengen Agreement, presented here with its distinctive tower and formal façade.

Both stamps carry 16 franc denominations and were printed by Courvoisier. The designs combine architectural clarity with approachable illustration, typical of Luxembourg’s mid-1990s commemorative style.

Offered in used condition, both stamps show clear circular date cancellations that add postal authenticity while leaving the buildings fully visible. Color remains strong, details are sharp, and perforations are intact. A solid matched pair for collectors of Luxembourg, European architecture, historic towns, or civic-themed commemoratives.
