This elegant two-stamp set, Scott #324–325, was issued by Liechtenstein in 1958 to commemorate the nation’s participation in the Brussels World Exhibition (Expo 58)—the first major World’s Fair after World War II and a showcase of modern art, architecture, and technology.
Designed by J. Seger and printed by Courvoisier S.A., one of Europe’s premier security printers, the stamps feature:
-
A panoramic mountain range representing Liechtenstein’s Alpine landscape
-
A red base field symbolizing the principality’s flag
-
A gold (25r) or turquoise (40r) sky
-
The crowned insignia of the Fürstentum Liechtenstein
-
Clean, modern graphic composition characteristic of mid-century European design
Values included:
-
25 rp – gold sky (Scott #324)
-
40 rp – turquoise sky (Scott #325)
Both stamps are Mint Never Hinged (MNH) with full original gum and exceptionally fresh color—ideal for collectors of Liechtenstein, World Exhibitions, Alpine scenery, or Courvoisier-printed issues.
