This vibrant 60c commemorative stamp, Scott #1052, was issued by Liberia in 1987 to celebrate the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. The design honors Bill Johnson, the American alpine skier who won the gold medal in Men’s Downhill at the 1984 Winter Olympics, becoming the first American man to win Olympic downhill gold.
