This used two-stamp set from the Republic of Lebanon, cataloged as Scott #178–179, features detailed engraved views of the Citadel of Byblos, one of the oldest continuously inhabited sites in the world. Issued as part of Lebanon’s mid-20th-century definitive series, these stamps highlight the country’s deep historical roots and Mediterranean architectural heritage.

The 20p green and 25p blue denominations present complementary perspectives of the citadel and surrounding town, rendered in fine line engraving with bilingual French and Arabic inscriptions.
