Description
Jordanian Occupation of Palestine – Scott #N2
Issued in 1948, Scott #N2 is a Jordanian occupation stamp for use in Palestine, produced by overprinting a regular Jordan definitive, specifically Jordan Scott #207. The overprint authorized the stamp’s use in Palestinian territories under Jordanian control following the 1948 Arab–Israeli War.
The underlying stamp features traditional Jordanian design elements, while the overprint marks its reassignment for postal service in Palestine during a period of rapid political and administrative transition. These occupation issues represent Jordan’s provisional postal arrangements prior to the formal annexation of the West Bank in 1950.
This stamp is part of a specialized and closely studied area of Middle Eastern philately, appealing to collectors of Jordan, Palestine, occupation issues, and post-1948 regional history.
Condition: Mint Never Hinged (MNH).
