Hungary Scott #2231–2237 (issued 1974) is a seven-stamp commemorative set celebrating the art of Tivadar Csontváry Kosztka (1853–1919), one of Hungary’s most visionary and eccentric painters. His works, known for their dreamlike intensity and vibrant palette, blend symbolism, surrealism, and romanticism in a uniquely Hungarian style. Issued by Magyar Posta, this series honors Csontváry’s genius and reintroduces his masterpieces to a wider audience.
