Hong Kong – Scott #138 (1912–21) Used, King George V Definitive, 12¢ Bister & Purple Brown
This striking 12-cent bister and purple brown definitive stamp was issued between 1912 and 1921, part of Hong Kong’s classic King George V series printed by De La Rue & Co. The design features the finely engraved left-facing portrait of King George V within an ornate frame, flanked by Chinese inscriptions for “Hong Kong” and the denomination.

As one of the more visually distinctive color combinations of the series, this issue represents the artistry and craftsmanship of early 20th-century British colonial printing. This example is postally used, with a neat HONG KONG circular cancellation and strong color retention.
