France – Scott #s 929-30

Description

Issued in 1960, France Scott #929–930 form the country’s contribution to the annual EUROPA series, created under the auspices of CEPT to promote European cooperation and unity through coordinated stamp designs.

Both stamps feature the stylized EUROPA emblem, a linked-ring motif symbolizing interconnected nations and shared purpose. France issued the design in two denominations and contrasting colors: 25f in green and 50f in violet, creating a visually balanced and immediately recognizable pair. The clean, modern typography and emblematic simplicity reflect the optimistic, forward-looking spirit of early European integration.
