France – Scott # 577

Description

France Scott #577, issued in 1954, is a Mint Never Hinged (MNH) definitive stamp from the classic Marianne series, one of the most enduring allegorical designs in French philately.

The stamp features Marianne in left-facing profile, rendered in crisp engraved line work with a restrained, modernized aesthetic characteristic of postwar French definitives. Printed in green and carrying a 3-franc denomination, the design emphasizes clarity, dignity, and republican symbolism. The stamp is inscribed POSTES – FRANCE with the RF monogram.

This example is Mint Never Hinged, retaining full original gum with a clean, fresh appearance. A staple issue for collectors of classic France, Marianne types, or postwar definitive series.
