France Scott #290, issued in 1931, is a used commemorative stamp depicting the historic pilgrimage town of Le Puy-en-Velay in south-central France.
The stamp presents a detailed engraved panorama of the town, prominently featuring its dramatic volcanic rock formations and religious monuments, including the famed statue atop the Rocher Corneille. Rendered in fine line work with a balanced composition, the design highlights Le Puy’s importance as a religious and cultural landmark as well as a starting point on the Camino de Santiago.
