Description

This is a used five-stamp set from Denmark, Scott #682–686, issued in 1981 as part of the “Children’s Homes” series (Børnehjem), highlighting notable Danish children’s homes and their surrounding landscapes.

Each stamp combines architectural or regional imagery with soft, illustrative linework, presenting a humane and understated view of institutions dedicated to child welfare:

• Scott 682 (1.00 kr) – Sorø, featuring a lakeside landscape beneath a spreading tree

• Scott 683 (1.50 kr) – N.F.S. Grundtvig’s Children’s Home, Udby, showing a traditional thatched-roof building

• Scott 684 (1.60 kr) – Kongsbørn’s Children’s Home, Oeager, Lolland, with arched architectural elements

• Scott 685 (2.30 kr) – Bornholm, depicting coastal cliffs and shoreline scenery

• Scott 686 (2.00 kr) – Grønsund, illustrating a quiet maritime scene with pilings and open water

The series reflects Denmark’s long-standing emphasis on social institutions, regional identity, and landscape, making it appealing to collectors of social history, architecture, and Scandinavian design.
