Description

Denmark Scott #580–584 (Used) form a five-stamp set issued in 1972–73 highlighting Danish wildlife, illustrated in a clean naturalist style with fine linework and bold species profiles. Each design focuses on a different native animal, making this one of Denmark’s most popular definitive-era thematic sets.

Scott #580 (50 øre – Kingfisher / Isfugl)
A delicate illustration of a kingfisher perched on a branch, rendered in soft blue-grey tones.

Scott #581 (70 øre – Hedgehog / Pindsvin)
Features a curled hedgehog emerging from grass, drawn in expressive brown linework.

Scott #582 (90 øre – Lynx / Los)
Shows a lynx behind stylized enclosure bars, issued in connection with wildlife protection efforts. This example includes a clear circular postmark.

Scott #583 (130 øre – Avocet / Klyde)
A pair of avocets wading in shallow water, illustrated in crisp blue lines with graceful movement.

Scott #584 (200 øre – Otter / Odder)
Depicts an otter in motion along a riverbank, printed in warm sepia tones and showing a distinct used cancellation.

All stamps are used with legible cancels, clean perforations, and strong color. An excellent set for collectors of Nordic fauna, wildlife themes, or Danish definitives of the early 1970s.
