Description
Issued by Denmark in 1973, this two-stamp set (Scott #522–523) depicts the Nordens Hus (Nordic House) in Reykjavík, Iceland, a cultural institution promoting Nordic cooperation and the arts. Designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, the modernist complex is shown in vivid color gradients echoing northern light and landscape.
Printed in 70 øre and 1 krone values, the issue underscores Scandinavian cultural links across national borders in the North Atlantic region. These examples are postally used, with clear cancels and strong color, presenting the celebrated Nordic House in circulated condition. A striking modern commemorative for collectors of architecture and Nordic collaboration themes.
