Issued in 2001, Denmark Scott #1160–1161 is a two-stamp commemorative set featuring masterpieces of Danish Golden Age painting, celebrating two of Denmark’s most important 19th-century artists.

Scott 1160 (10.00 kr) reproduces P.S. Krøyer’s Ved Frokosten (1893), a warm, intimate scene of friends gathered at a breakfast table, capturing the relaxed social realism for which Krøyer and the Skagen Painters are famous.
Scott 1161 (15.00 kr) shows Michael Ancher’s Pigen med Solsikkerne (1889), a striking portrait of a young woman holding a bouquet of sunflowers, painted with Ancher’s characteristic strength and clarity.

The stamps reproduce the paintings in full color with fine detail, framed by elegant borders that echo the feel of gallery presentation. The higher denominations reflect their use on international and heavier letter rates.
