Denmark – Scott # 988, used

Description

Denmark Scott #988, issued in 1993, is a used commemorative stamp depicting a classic full-rigged sailing ship, a nod to Denmark’s long maritime tradition. Issued by Denmark, the stamp carries a 5.00 krone denomination and reflects the nation’s deep historical ties to seafaring, trade, and naval exploration.

The design features a tall ship under sail, rendered in soft, atmospheric tones with billowing yellow sails set against a moody sea and sky. The composition emphasizes movement and craftsmanship, evoking Denmark’s age of sail and its role as a maritime power in Northern Europe.

This example is postally used, with a visible cancellation. Colors remain attractive, and the overall condition is solid with good visual balance.

An appealing choice for collectors of ships on stamps, maritime history, Scandinavian issues, or modern Danish commemoratives.
