Denmark Scott #169 (1927) is an engraved 15 øre definitive featuring King Christian X, produced in the same stylistic format as the earlier values of the series. Printed in a deep violet, the stamp presents a finely rendered portrait of the king within a decorative rectangular frame, with corner numerals and ornate detailing typical of Danish engravings of the era.

Vertical inscriptions in Roman numerals—“IX” for Christian X—appear along the sides, integrating the monarch’s designation into the overall ornamental design. The strong symmetry and classic typographic layout make this one of the more visually appealing values of the Christian X engraved definitives.

This used example shows a bold, well-struck circular cancel that crosses the portrait but leaves the design fully identifiable. The engraving remains crisp, and the stamp retains the rich violet coloration that collectors expect from this issue. A solid representative of Denmark’s late 1920s portrait definitives.
