Offered here is the Cyprus 1980 EUROPA set, Scott #533–534, both mint never hinged and post-office fresh. This beautifully designed pair highlights two figures central to Cypriot history and identity:

Scott #533 – 40m “St. Barnabas”

Features a vivid icon-style depiction of St. Barnabas, the patron saint of Cyprus and an early Christian apostle traditionally credited with founding the Cypriot church. The artwork reflects Byzantine iconographic tradition, complete with Greek inscriptions and rich jewel tones. The EUROPA emblem appears in the upper corner, marking this as part of CEPT’s annual themed issue.

Scott #534 – 125m “Zeno of Citium”

Depicts a sculptural bust of Zeno of Citium, the ancient Cypriot philosopher who founded Stoicism, one of the most influential schools of classical philosophy. The sepia background and clean classical layout offer a striking contrast to the companion stamp.
