Issued in 1996, this airmail commemorative celebrates the 25th Anniversary of CERLALC (Centro Regional para el Fomento del Libro en América Latina y el Caribe), the Regional Center for the Promotion of Books in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The design, by Estrella Santamaría, features an open book motif inscribed with text and the anniversary years 1971–1996, symbolizing the spread of literacy and cultural exchange throughout the region. The issue carries a denomination of 800 pesos and was printed by Carvajal S.A.
This used example retains strong color, sharp design detail, and a light circular cancel. A fine thematic stamp for collectors interested in education, books, UNESCO initiatives, or Latin American cooperation.
