Description
Cilicia Scott #121 – Unused Hinged (H)
1919 Overprint on France 10c Red Sower
Denomination: 20 Paras (on 10c)
Condition: Unused, Hinged
A classic provisional issue from Cilicia, produced during the short period of French occupation following World War I. This stamp is the French 10c red “Sower” issue, overprinted “O.M.F. / Cilicie / 20 Paras” for use in the region. The Sower design, created by artist Louis-Oscar Roty, is one of the most iconic figures in French philately, here adapted for local postal needs at a time of geopolitical transition.
This example is unused, hinged, with strong color, sharp overprint, and good overall presentation. A desirable addition for collectors of French Offices Abroad, Middle East postal history, and post-WWI occupations.
