Chad – Scott # 383

This Republic of Chad commemorative, Scott #383, was issued for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid and features a bold, streamlined illustration of a ski jumper in full flight. The athlete’s aerodynamic posture, extended skis, and vibrant green suit capture the drama and precision of Olympic ski jumping.

The top of the design includes the Lake Placid 1980 Olympic emblem and event text, while the denomination 60F appears at upper right. The clean white snowfield and blue gradient sky provide a crisp, modern look typical of late-1970s and early-1980s Olympic design.
