Description
Ceylon – Scott #357–358 (1958 Human Rights Declaration 10th Anniversary, MNH)
Issued in 1958, this striking two-stamp set from Ceylon commemorates the 10th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948–1958).
Each design features hands from around the world encircling a globe beneath the stylized UN emblem and red flame of freedom, symbolizing international unity and the defense of human dignity. The pair was printed in two color schemes — deep maroon for the 10¢ value and blue-green for the 85¢ high value — both exhibiting clean modernist design uncommon in mid-century Commonwealth issues.
These Mint Never Hinged examples are bright, fresh, and well-centered — a fine set for collectors of United Nations, humanitarian themes, or post-independence South Asian issues.
Denominations: 10¢ and 85¢
Issue Year: 1958
Condition: Mint Never Hinged (MNH)
