Description
Bavaria Scott #O11 (1916) — Used
This 15 Pfennig carmine red Official stamp (Scott #O11) was issued in 1916 for government and administrative correspondence in the Kingdom of Bavaria. Like the rest of the Dienstmarke series, it prominently features the royal Bavarian coat of arms, flanked by two crowned lions and surmounted by the royal crown — a powerful emblem of state authority during the final years of the Bavarian monarchy.
Official stamps were restricted to government use, ensuring that official mail could be easily identified and separated from civilian correspondence. The Dienstmarke issues reflect both Bavarian pride and precision, even as the monarchy faced the upheavals of World War I and the coming transition to republican governance.
This example is postally used, with a neat light cancel that leaves the heraldic design clear and well-centered.
Condition: Used; fine centering; light cancel; rich color and sharp detail.
Issued: 1916
Color: Carmine red

Design Theme: Bavarian coat of arms with lions, “DIENSTMARKE” heading
