Description
Bavaria – Scott #67 (1899) continues the distinguished Coat of Arms definitive series, showcasing the Bavarian royal crest with its crowned shield and twin lions. This 30 Pfennig olive green issue was printed under the Kingdom of Bavaria’s independent postal system, even as it operated within the framework of the German Empire. Produced typographically on unwatermarked paper, the intricate design reflects both Bavarian pride and the elegant simplicity of late 19th-century German engraving. This example is used, featuring a well-struck circular postmark dated 1907, with strong color and good centering—an attractive representative of Bavaria’s classic period.
