Description
Bavaria Scott #107 (1911–1919) — Used
This 60 Pfennig green definitive from the Kingdom of Bavaria (Scott #107) features the portrait of King Ludwig III, who reigned from 1913 until the monarchy’s fall in 1918. Issued as part of the 1911–1919 typographed definitive series, these stamps represent the last chapter of Bavaria’s independent postal history before integration into the German Reich.
The design is both refined and understated: Ludwig III appears within a circular frame above the bold “BAYERN” inscription. The rich green color of this higher denomination gives the issue a stately character, reflecting Bavaria’s proud royal heritage amid a changing Europe.
This example is postally used, showing a neat, circular dated cancel that preserves full visibility of the king’s portrait and strong color tone.
Condition: Used; clear cancel; fine centering; deep green shade; sound perforations.
Issued: 1911–1919

Denomination: 60 Pfennig
