Description

Austria Scott #75 — Unused Hinged — 10 Heller Emperor Franz Josef I (1901–1904 Issue)
Issued between 1901 and 1904, this 10 heller definitive stamp is part of Austria’s distinguished imperial portrait series featuring Emperor Franz Josef I. Unlike the oval-framed lower denominations, the 10 heller issue introduces a more geometric layout with bold rectangular panels, fine guilloché patterns, and sharply defined denomination tablets, all of which frame the emperor’s engraved profile.

Printed in a vivid rose carmine shade, Scott #75 showcases the precise line engraving and high production standards of the Austrian State Printing House during the early 20th century. As a mid-range denomination, the 10 heller value saw considerable postal use, making unused examples—especially with attractive color—desirable additions to classic European collections.

This example is Unused Hinged, retaining full original gum with a hinge mark on the reverse. The color is bright, the impression crisp, and the perforations clean and intact.

An excellent choice for collectors of:

  • Austro-Hungarian Empire

  • Franz Josef portrait issues

  • Classic European definitives

  • Early 1900s engraved stamps
