Description

Antigua Scott #329–333, issued in 1976, form a complete five-stamp set depicting historic British military uniforms from the late 18th to mid-19th centuries. Each stamp features a full-length illustration of a soldier in period dress, set against a solid color background with Antigua’s elegant serif typeface and Queen Elizabeth II cameo.

The set includes:

  • #329 (½¢) – Officer, 59th Foot, 1797

  • #330 (10¢) – Gunner, Royal Artillery, 1800

  • #331 (20¢) – Private, 1st West India Regiment, 1830

  • #332 (35¢) – Officer, 92nd Foot (Gordon Highlanders), 1843

  • #333 (75¢) – Private, 23rd Foot (Royal Welsh Fusiliers), 1846

These stamps highlight the varied uniforms, weaponry, and regimental distinctions of British forces stationed throughout the Empire, including the Caribbean. The artwork is crisp and detailed, making this a popular set with collectors of military history.

All five stamps are Mint Never Hinged (MNH), with full original gum, excellent color, and clean perforations. A superb choice for collectors of military uniforms, Antigua, British regiments, and topical military history.
