Description
Albania Scott #552, issued in 1958, commemorates the 10th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948–1958). The design features a mother holding a child—symbolizing protection, dignity, and the promise of a better future—set beside the emblem of the United Nations and an open book representing the declaration itself.
Printed in a bold turquoise blue, this issue reflects Albania’s mid-century graphic style under the People’s Republic, combining socialist-era imagery with international humanitarian themes.
This example is Mint Never Hinged (MNH), with strong color, fresh paper, and full original gum. A meaningful addition for collectors of Albania, United Nations topics, human rights anniversaries, and Cold War–era design.
