Afghanistan Scott #470–471, issued in 1960, are beautifully designed imperforate stamps promoting the national campaign “Help the Refugees.” These classic early-modern Afghan issues feature a stylized potted tree—a symbol of stability and renewal—surrounded by traditional calligraphic elements and clean frame lines typical of the period.

This MNH imperf pair includes:
