Self-Government issue

Two-stamp set issued in 1973 to mark Papua New Guinea’s achievement of self-government. Features traditional tribal masks framed by woven designs, symbolizing unity and cultural identity. Inscribed with the motto “Unite-Bung Wantaim Na Pragoue” (“Unite, Work Together, and Advance”). Designed by M. Downs and printed by the Note Printing Branch, Melbourne.
